Former Caddo Nation employee sentenced for theft


A former employee of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma was sentenced to a year and a day for stealing from the tribe.

Elizabeth Ann Hernandez, 44, was the tribe's procurement officer. She pleaded guilty to a single count of embezzlement after writing checks and using the tribe's credit car for her own use.

In addition to her prison term, Hernandez must repay nearly $80,000 to the tribe.
