Quinault Nation concerned about fish kill

The Quinault Nation is closely monitoring a "dead zone" off the coast of Washington after a major fish kill.

The fish washed up on the shores of the reservation at Point Grenville. Tribal officials said it was the largest seen in recent memory.

The fish kill may be linked to a "dead zone" of low oxygen levels that has appeared off the Oregon coast for five years in a row. This was the first time the zone moved north to Washington.

Tribal fishermen are worried that the dead zone will impact their fishing and crabbing. The tribe is waiting for results of tests being conducted by scientists.
