Utah Gov. John Huntsman (R) has called the first ever government-to-government meeting between tribal and state officials.

The 2006 Native American Summit begins today. The Navajo Nation, the Ute Tribe, the bands of the Goshute Tribe, the bands of the Paiute Tribe and the bands of the Shoshone Nation are scheduled to attend.
