Narragansett Tribe worried about burial sites

The Narragansett Tribe wants more study of a proposed housing subdivision on the Connecticut-Rhode Island border.

Historical Officer John Brown said there is a likelihood of burial grounds on the 75-acre site. He said there would be Narragansett, Mohegan or Pequot villages there.

JT Construction and Stand Corp., the developers behind the project, say a state archaeologist already came to the site and didn't find anything. The project engineer says the tribe hasn't contacted the companies.
