Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes bless burial grounds

Members of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes held a blessing ceremony at Fort Reno, where their ancestors are buried.

An unknown number of burial sites are located at the fort. Tribal members sang songs, passed the pipe and left offerings for their ancestors.

Fort Reno is currently under the jurisdiction of the Department of Agriculture. The tribes have been trying to reclaim the land but have been met by opposition from Oklahoma's Congressional delegation.
