Random shootings on San Carlos Reservation

The San Carlos Apache Nation of Arizona will be meeting with local officials to discuss a series of random shootings on the reservation.

Three shootings have occurred in the last two years. The first two involved shootings at school buses. One young woman was injured in the first incident but no one was injured in the second.

The most recent incident occurred this past Sunday. Someone shot at a truck carrying a family of three. The driver was injured by shattered glass from the driver-side window.

The tribe has beefed up law enforcement in response to the shootings. But local officials want the tribe to do more. A meeting is planned for December 4.
