US Attorney hosts Indian Country conference

U.S. Attorney Troy Eid of Colorado opened the 15th annual Four Corners Indian Country Conference on Monday.

The conference focuses on law enforcement issues affecting tribes in the Four Corner area. Tribal and federal officials cited methamphetamine abuse as one of the top problems on reservations.

“I couldn’t think of any better way to describe this drug," said Diane J. Humetewa of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona, who said meth is often called “the monster," The Colorado Springs Gazette reported.

The conference is taking place in Colorado Springs.
