Eastern Cherokee Band re-elects incumbents

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina re-elected incumbents to its top two seats.

Principal Chief Michell Hicks narrowly defeated challenger Patrick Lambert. The tally was 1,854 to 1,824.

Vice Chief Larry Blythe defeated challenger Teresa McCoy by over 100 votes. Twelve council members were also elected.
