Former Oglala Sioux vice president sentenced

A former vice president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota was sentenced to probation for stealing from the tribe.

Eileen Janis was sentenced to five years probation and was ordered to pay restitution in an amount to be determined later. She was convicted in October 2007 of stealing $22,000 from the tribe in a payroll scheme.

Kim Colhoff, a former payroll supervisor, was sentenced to five years of probation and restitution after pleading guilty for her role.

Former treasurer David Rabbit Sr. pleaded guilty last August and as sentenced to probation and $10,000 in restitution.
