Former Rosebud Sioux council member heads to trial
A former leader of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe is set to go to trial next month on charges that he solicited a minor and engaged in sexual contact with a minor.

Michael J. Valandra, 50, was arrested in April 2009. Prosecutors say the crime took place in Rapid City, off the reservation.

Valandra was suspended from the tribal council after he was charged.
