Chippewa Cree Tribe evacuates homes over flood emergency

The Chippewa Cree Tribe evacuated about 30 families and declared a flood emergency on the Rocky Boy's Reservation in Montana.

A heavy rain storm on Friday damaged roads and washed out bridges. Some stayed at a command center on the reservation while others were moved to hotels in the area.

The tribe is also closely monitoring a dam on the reservation to address potential problems. Most of the roads have reopened although some remain closed due to high water levels.
