Oklahoma lawmaker loses Indian voters as district is redrawn

An Oklahoma lawmaker says he will file a lawsuit to prevent from losing 5,000 Indian voters in his district.
Sen. Jim Wilson (D) says the new boundaries of the Senate District 3 violate the state's constitution and dilute the power of the Indian vote.
"Before redistricting, I had 25,000 Native American voters, and it will decrease to 20,000 now," Wilson told The Tahlequah Daily Press.
The district includes the Cherokee Nation and the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians.
Wilson hopes to work with the tribes as he prepares his legal challenge.
