Oglala Sioux Tribe set to open $42M justice center next year

The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is working on a $42 million justice center.

The 93,000 square-foot Pine Ridge Justice Center will include four courtrooms, the tribal attorney general office, a 64-bed adult detention area and an 18-bed juvenile area, Correctional News reported. The law enforcement department will also be housed in the facility.

The tribe expects the center to open in late 2012. It's being built entirely with Bureau of Indian Affairs funds.
