Senate Indian Affairs Committee to consider bills at meeting





The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will hold a business meeting tomorrow to consider two bills.

The first bill is S.1763, the SAVE Native Women Act. The bill restores tribal jurisdiction over non-Indians in domestic violence cases.

The second bill is S.1065, the Blackfoot River Land Settlement. The bill settles a land dispute involving the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Idaho.

The business meeting takes place at 2:15pm in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building. It will be immediately followed by a hearing on state and federal tax policy in Indian Country.
