Southern Ute Tribe headed back to polls to decide on leaders

Members of the Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado are going back to the polls next week.

The tribe held an election last month but the race for chair wasn't decided because no candidate received a majority of the vote. So incumbent Pearl E. Casias will face Jimmy R. Newton Jr., who previously served as vice chair, in the election next Wednesday.

Additionally, voters will elect two council members. Aaron Torres, Vida D. Peabody, Alex Cloud and Pathimi GoodTracks are in the running.
