Nebraska Commission on Indian Affairs issues Whiteclay grant

The Nebraska Commission on Indian Affairs awarded a $14,900 grant to fund a program in Whiteclay.

The grant will fund the Whiteclay Entrepreneurial Expansion/Youth Healthy Living Project to spur business in the Whiteclay area. The project also fill start a youth mentoring program.

Whiteclay is a town near the border of the Pine Ridge Reservation. Four liquor stores there sell nearly 4 million cans of beer a year, mostly to members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
