Internet abuzz with sightings of Johnny Depp on reservation

YouTube: Navajo Times Daily News Update for January 10, 2012 with reporter Alastair Lee Bitsoi

Sorry, movie fans. Johnny Depp probably wasn't hanging out on the Navajo Nation over the weekend, although Facebook and The Navajo Times were inundated with sightings of "The Lone Ranger" star.

Depp was reportedly spotted in Shiprock, Chinle, Tuba City and Monument Valley -- all on the reservation. But no one could actually confirm his presence there, or in other parts of the Four Corners.

"The guy gets around!" wrote Navajo Times reporter Cindy Yurth.

Depp, who is playing Tonto in The Lone Ranger, might turn up on or near the Navajo Nation in the future. The film is being shot in New Mexico and Arizona, with potential locations on the reservation.
