Blackfeet Nation recognized for anti-drunk driving program

The FBI honored the Blackfeet Nation of Montana for its anti-drunk driving program.

The tribe's Pikanii Action Team received the FBI Director's Community Leadership Award. Officials said the effort has resulted in a significant drop in drunken driving violations on the reservation -- from 484 in 2009 to 199 in 2010, The Great Falls Tribune reported.

The team has worked to reduce underage drinking and combat binge drinking. The team also makes sure alcohol sales on the reservation comply with local and state laws
