Pueblo woman sent to hospital after officer-related shooting





A woman in New Mexico was sent to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot by a police officer from Ohkay Owingeh.

According to news reports, a tribal police officer responded to a domestic violence call at a home on the reservation. The woman was shot in the chest after she allegedly threatened the officer with a knife.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave. The FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are investigating.
