Rick Santorum boosts campaign with victories in three states

Former senator Rick Santorum revived his struggling presidential campaign with Republican victories in Colorado, Missouri and Minnesota on Tuesday.

Santorum made a strong showing in all three states. Mitt Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts who had been considered the front-runner, came in a disappointed third in Minnesota, where he had the support of top politicians.

The next votes take place in Arizona and Michigan on February 28 and Washington on March 3. Eleven states vote on March 6, also known as Super Tuesday.
