Fort Mojave Tribe welcomes filming of movie on reservation

The Fort Mojave Tribe authorized the shooting of an independent film on the reservation.

Actor Jason Momoa, who appeared as Conan in Conan the Barbarian, plays a tribal member who returns to the reservation after a six-year absence. He personally called Chairman Tim Williams to seek permission to film The Road To Paloma there.

"I think it was a good opportunity for not only the tribe but its members to be involved in a production — something that, to my knowledge, has never been done on the reservation," William told The Mohave Daily News.

Momoa is Native Hawaiian and Native American, according to his IMDB bio.
