NPS still working on management plan for Oglala Sioux Tribe

The National Park Service is still working on a plan to create the first tribally-managed park.

The plan calls for the Oglala Sioux Tribe to manage the South Unit of the Badlands National Park in South Dakota. The land was taken from the tribe during World War II.

The plan would require an act of Congress.
