Brandon Sazue wins election as Crow Creek Sioux chairman

Brandon Sazue Sr. won election as chairman of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe of South Dakota.

Sazue served as chairman from 2008 to 2010. He lost by 11 votes to Duane Big Eagle Sr., who was eventually ousted after being indicted on bribery charges, for which he was convicted.

When he was chairman, Sazue helped federal prosecutors build cases against other tribal leaders who were accepting bribes. Three of them pleaded guilty to retaliating against Sazue.
