Coeur d'Alene woman seeks Democratic nod for Idaho seat

Paulette Jordan, a member of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, is seeking the Democratic nomination for Idaho's 5th Legislative District House A.

Jordan sits on the tribal council and serves as the tribe's enrollment director. She hopes to bring a new voice to the Idaho Legislature.

"There's no real dialogue," Jordan told The Lewiston Tribune. "Democrats are speaking up for education, health care, transportation, but their voices aren't being heard. Which is a shame, because they have some good ideas."

Jordan's May 15 primary opponent is James Stivers, a former Republican. The winner will face Republican Cindy Agidius in the general election.
