Tribe in Venezuela demands return of sacred stone from Germany





Members of the Pemon Tribe in Venezuela marched to the German embassy in their nation's capital to demand the return of a sacred stone.

The 35-ton stone was removed in 1997. It was taken to Germany by artist Wolfgang Kraker von Schwarzenfeld, who claims he had the permission of the Venezuelan government at the time.

But tribal members the Kueka Stone should be returned to their homelands. It's considered the grandmother of the Pemon people.
