A bill moving through the North Carolina Legislature terminates the state's 99-year lease for the N.C. Indian Cultural Center.

Rep. Charles Graham (D), a member of the Lumbee Tribe, is sponsoring the bill. He said the non-profit that runs the center has left the site in disrepair.

Center leaders acknowledge problems but they say they have used their own money to correct them. They also say they are being blamed for conditions at an adjacent golf course that's leased by the Lumbee Tribe.

In total, 530 acres of state-owned land are affected. Graham said he eventually wants the Lumbees to control the entire site.

The tribe supports Graham's bill.
