Ginny Tyler, Snoqualmie woman who was Mouseketeer, passes





Ginny Tyler, a member of the Snoqualmie Tribe of Washington who served as Head Mousketeer and was an accomplished voice actor, died on July 13. She was 86.

Tyler learned how to mimic animal sounds and change her voice by listening to her mother, who was Snoqualmie. One of her ancestors was a tribal chief.

Tyler hosted "The Mickey Mouse Club" for a year starting in 1963 and she provided voices for numerous Disney movies, including "The Sword in the Stone." She also lent her talents to other productions, including "Casper, the Friendly Ghost" and "Davey and Goliath."

Tyler was named a Disney Legend in 2006.
