Sen. McCain amused with Elizabeth Warren's Indian claim

Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) says he knows a lot of Indians but they don't claim any connection to Elizabeth Warren, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts.

McCain, the former chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, said he's been "entertained" by Warren's claims of Indian ancestry. She lacks proof of her alleged Cherokee or Delaware heritage.

“I know lots and lots of Native Americans, they have a very huge presence in my state and I’ve yet to meet one of them who claims to be related to Elizabeth Warren," McCain told The Boston Herald.

McCain was in Massachusetts yesterday to endorse Scott Brown, the Republican incumbent.
