Tentative schedule for White House Tribal Nations Conference

The Obama administration is finalizing details for the fourth White House Tribal Nations Conference, to be held in Washington, D.C., on December 5.

The event, as in years past, will take place at the main Interior Department building. All 566 federally recognized tribes are invited to send one representative.

"We are very excited about looking forward to that major White House Tribal Nations Conference here on December 5," Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said on a call with reporters yesterday.

"These conferences have been in the past few years a very important opportunity for us to hear the priorities of tribal leaders," Salazar added.

President Barack Obama will attend a portion of the conference. Like last year, he is expected to give remarks during the closing session in the afternoon.

The tentative schedule follows:
9:30AM – 11:00AM Opening Session
11:00AM - 1:30PM Break Out Sessions/Lunch
1:30PM – 3:30PM Closing Session
