'Fighting Sioux' signs being removed from North Dakota arena

The University of North Dakota is removing “Home of the Fighting Sioux” signs from its arena, The Grand Forks Herald reports.

The school was required to eliminate its "Fighting Sioux" logo and mascot as part of a settlement with the NCAA. The agreement required the removal of the signs although many of the Indian head logos inside the arena will remain.

The arena was funded by Ralph Englestad, a wealthy alumnus who was known for throwing parties on Hilter's birthday and for his Nazi memorabilia.
