Oklahoma bill creates Secretary for Native American Affairs





A bill that was introduced in the Oklahoma Legislature would create a Secretary for Native American Affairs.

The state currently has a Native American liaison. The bill elevates the position to the cabinet level and caps the annual salary at $65,000, The Native American Times reported.

Jacque Secondine Hensley, a member of the Kaw Nation, is the current liaison.
