Sen. Tim Johnson of South Dakota expected to retire in 2014





Sen. Tim Johnson (D-South Dakota), a longtime friend of Indian Country, is expected to announce his plans to retire from the Senate.

Johnson is a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the Senate Appropriations Committee. He has used his positions to advocate for Indian health, education, law enforcement, water rights and trust reform.

Johnson is making an announcement about his plans later today.
