Salish Kootenai College picks Robert DePoe as new president

Salish Kootenai College in Montana has named Robert DePoe III as its new president.

DePoe is a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. He most recently worked at the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a self-determination specialist. He also served as education director for the Paiute Tribe in Utah.

DePoe was one of three finalists for the job. He succeeds Luana Ross, who left the college unexpectedly last October.

Prior to Ross, Joe McDonald ran SKC for 32 years before he retired in 2010.
