Tatanka Means stars in the film adaptation of the Judy Blume classic "Tiger Eyes." His late father, Russell Means, also appears, in his last film role before his death in October 2012.
Sensitive to a fault and soggy with emo music, “Tiger Eyes” hovers over 17-year-old Davey (Willa Holland, wan and wispy) as she grapples with bereavement, a disengaged mother (Amy Jo Johnson), bossy relatives (Cynthia Stevenson and Forrest Fyre) and a hunky college boy (Tatanka Means) chock-full of American Indian wisdom. That he also has flowing black hair and is named Wolf makes his aphorisms only more compelling. Directed by Lawrence Blume and adapted from the young-adult novel by his mother, Judy Blume, this attenuated coming-of-age tale oozes heart and perhaps too much respect for its source material.Get the Story:
