Hualapai Tribe offers shutdown alternative to Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon National Park is closed due to the shutdown of the federal government but the Associated Press notes that the Hualapai Tribe of Arizona offers an alternative.

The tribe operates the popular Grand Canyon Skywalk tourist attraction on the west rim of the canyon. That might be the closest visitors can get without renting a helicopter, the AP said.

The Skywalk sees about 370,000 visitors a year.
