Louise Erdrich's 'The Round House' wins American Book Award

Ojibwe author Louise Erdrich has won the American Book Award.

Erdrich was honored for The Round House. The book explores jurisdictional and law enforcement issues facing Native women who are victimized.

Christopher B. Teuton, a member of the Cherokee Nation, was also honored for Cherokee Stories of the Turtle Island Liars' Club.
