Murder charge filed over shooting death of Taos Pueblo singer

A 52-year-old New Mexico man was charged with murder for the shooting death of a singer from Taos Pueblo.

Federal authorities say Jorden Medina shot Nicholas Joshua Concha, 28, at a gas station on the reservation. The incident took place on November 30.

Concha was laid to rest yesterday, The Taos News reported. He was a singer for the Hail Creek drum group.

Medina was being held in federal custody but is due to be released to a halfway house, the paper said.
