Poarch Band of Creek Indians debuts two health care facilities

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama opened the doors to two new health care facilities.

The Buford L. Rolin Health Clinic provides services to all members. The 68,430 square-foot facility offers primary care, dental care, infant care, diabetes prevention and treatment and other programs.

The Lavan Martin Assisted Living Facility provides housing and other services for elders. The complex includes 32 apartments, two guest rooms, a dining area, a coffee shop, a laundry room and other amenities.

"I am so proud to be able to walk through these doors today," Chairman Buford Rolin said in a press release. "Lavan and I dreamed for many years about having these kinds of facilities for our tribe. I know that he would be so happy to see that his hard work and commitment were remembered and honored this way. "
