Minneapolis city council to vote on Columbus Day change





The city council in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will vote this Friday on a resolution to change the name of the Columbus Day holiday.

The new name will be Indigenous People's Day. Supporters have been pushing for the change for decades.

"We're hoping to fill City Hall with indigenous people and allies to say Hello to Indigenous People's Day and Goodbye to Columbus Day!" an announcement on Facebook stated.
