Boy bitten by bulldogs on Onondaga Nation remains in hospital

A four-year-old boy from the Onondaga Nation of New York remains in the hospital after being attacked by a pair of buldogs last week.

Tukwet Norte was bitten on June 26 by his family's dogs. He suffered a wound to the chest, The Syracuse Post-Standard reported.

Tribal firefighters and local police responded to the scene and discovered "chaos," fire chief Ronald Shenandoah told the paper. Besides the boy, three others were injured, including the boy's 10-year-old brother, his 18-year-old sister and their father. All were treated for their injuries.

The dogs were eventually shot and killed by police although samples were taken for rabies. The tests came back negative, Shenandoah said.
