The House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs will hold a legislative hearing next week.

Four bills are on the agenda. They are:
H.R.3229, the Indian Health Service Advance Appropriations Act. The bill appropriates funds for the Indian Health Service for two years in advance.
H.R.4546, the Department of the Interior Tribal Self-Governance Act. The bill streamlines the process for approving self-governance compacts and annual funding agreements at the Interior Department.
H.R.4867, the Economic Development Through Tribal Land Exchange Act. The bill places land into trust for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians in California.
S.1603, the Gun Lake Trust Land Reaffirmation Act. The bill ensures that land placed in trust for the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatami Indians in Michigan can't be challenged under the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar.

The hearing takes place at 11am on July 15. A witness list hasn't been posted online.
