Interior Secretary Sally Jewell will be visiting two Indian schools next week.

Jewell and Education Secretary Arne Duncan will be at the Beatrice Rafferty School on Monday. The school is located on the Passamaquoddy Reservation at Pleasant Point and is due to receive $18.5 million in federal funds for a replacement facility.

On Tuesday, Jewell will visit the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School on the Leech Lake Reservation in Minnesota. She will be joined by Assistant Secretary Kevin Washburn, the head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The school is also in need of an update -- high school students attend classes in a metal barn that was originally build to house an auto mechanic school and bus garage. But federal funds for the $25 million project are lacking.
