The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut held an election for four council seats.

Three incumbents won their re-election bids, The New London Day reported. Mark Brown, Thayne Hutchins Jr. and Cheryl Todd will serve four-year terms on the council.

Joe Smith won the last seat, the paper said. He is expected to leave his job as the tribe's communication manager after being sworn in next month, the paper reported.

The tribe's electoral process is highly secretive and the results aren't considered official until the council members are sworn in.

The council has nine seats total. Kevin Brown serves as chairman.
