The Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Indians in California will be opening a cultural center and museum this spring, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The facility is replacing a tennis club that the tribe purchased 10 years ago, the paper reported. The courts there were built on top of a Kumeyaay village, according to the paper.

The cultural center and museum will house the tribe's artifacts and share the tribe's history, the paper said. It will open after the club closes on February 2.
