Video: Native Americans have some questions for White people

YouTube: BuzzFeedYellow: 9 Questions Native Americans Have For White People

A video featuring young Native Americans is generating some discussion on BuzzFeed.

The participants, whose names aren't disclosed, talk about some of the issues they face due to their heritage. Headdresses, the racist mascot of the Washington NFL team, blood quantum and stereotypes are addressed in the short clip.

“Why do you always ask me ‘how Native I am’?” one participant states.

The video has been viewed more than 240,000 times as of Friday morning. Comments on the YouTube page not surprisingly skew negative, with some criticizing the participants for bringing up the issues in the first place.

There are fewer comments on the BuzzFeed page, most likely because the discussion is linked to people's Facebook accounts. The post, overall, has received more negative and ambivalent ratings than positive.
