Gabriel Brisbois, a member of the White Earth Nation of Minnesota, lists some of the accomplishments of former chairwoman Erma Vizenor, who resigned earlier this month in a dispute with other tribal leaders:
This letter is not meant to be a political statement but rather a letter of appreciation and commendation for the 12 years of Erma’s leadership and accomplishments while serving in this position.

The visual evidence of her leadership is evident throughout the reservation.

There are new Head Start buildings, fire halls, pow wow arenas, community centers, a veterans’ center, a college campus, a new school, apartment buildings, new housing, a kidney dialysis building, a women’s shelter, a new government center and many other things I’m certain I’m missing.

The services that come with these infrastructure improvements benefit all White Earth members... on and off the reservation.
