"Two of my brothers were veterans. Both passed away in the last several years, but not as a result of war. The oldest fought in the Korean War and the younger of the two fought in Vietnam. Neither of them talked much about the wars. I thought about them often on Friday, as I interviewed World War II veterans at Red Lake Nation. I could see in the eyes of those veterans some of the horrors my brothers must have experienced..."
