NOVEMBER 27, 2000

On Sunday, a group of runners completed the 187-mile run from the location of the Sand Creek Massacre to the Capitol building in Denver, Colorado.

This is the second year the run has been completed. Earlier this month, President Bill Clinton signed a law turning the Sand Creek site into a national historic site.

The attack took place on November 29, 1864.
