Four Pueblo schools on probation

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2001

Four public schools located on two Pueblo reservations are on probation by the state of New Mexico.

That could mean the schools face a state takeover. To help the schools succeed, the state Department of Education will be visiting each school, along with others in the Bernalillo Public School district, this week.

Although the state's most recent accreditation rankings just came out, the visit isn't in reaction to those, said the state.

The district has nine schools. The four on probation are located at Cochito Pueblo and Santo Domingo Pueblo.
