Coal bed methane companies on Thursday met with the Bureau of Land Management Resource Advisory Committee in Billings, Montana, on Thursday, hoping to convince citizens they can develop the state while protecting the environment.

Ernie Robinson, a committee member who represents the Northern Cheyenne Nation, said the tribe is sometimes viewed as anti-development but is really "anti-irresponsibility." The tribe's reservation is in the middle of a coal bed methane field.
